The Junco Wristlet - Vintage Monogram in Vachetta
This little wristlet bag is made from an authentic Louis Vuitton Monogram Bucket Pouch 27. It's been thoroughly cleaned and is ready for a new owner!!
This bag was in great shape, so I cleaned up the outside and recoated the edges in the dark brown. Someone had "painted" the interior over the Vuittonite (see below), and although not sticky, it was flaking a bit. I've adhered a piece of PU leather on the inside that's easy to wipe out, and covers the flakiness. I've added a vachetta wristlet strap to this bag that is slightly lighter than the vachetta tab at the end of the bag, but it will patina over time to match.
This little Junco measures is L 7.75 x W 4 x D 0.75" and is perfect for throwing a few cards and cash into ... throw it in a larger bag, or carry it into the bar to give your outfit a fun flair!!
Please note: This is a vintage bag, and will show some wear. I try to call out everything, but please make sure to look at the pictures!!
About Vuittonite: Prior to 1997, Louis Vuitton lined many of its bags with a vinyl-like material known as Vuittonite. It was used (and patented) by Louis Vuitton because its resistance to water makes it easy to clean. Unfortunately, when exposed to high heat or humidity, Vuittonite begins to deteriorate and peel away from the edges of the bag. Over time, it becomes increasingly sticky, forming a residue (which, in extreme cases, is black in color) that transfers to anything placed inside the bag. If your Vuittonite is starting to get sticky, try putting some talcum powder inside, lightly coating it. It works!!!
